S.O.B.

I am very excited to announce that Parliament of the Profane Book I: S.O.B. (Summum Omnium Bonus) is now available on Smashwords.

In S.O.B., the majority of the world has stood in awe of those with superpowers, dubbed meta-humans, since the government first revealed the existence of three superheroes, called the Triumvirate, at the end of World War II. For 45 years, the seemingly ageless Triumvirate contained the sole meta-humans on the planet, a natural check against communist aggression abroad and domestic criminals. Toward the end of the millennium, new meta-humans appear for the first time, joining with the Triumvirate as a part of the government-condoned corporate-sponsored Operation Scimitar or becoming supervillains.

Not everyone buys the party line.

A small group of renegade meta-humans called Operation Checkpoint, working within a splinter faction of the U.S. government, has started to cut through the lies surrounding Operation Scimitar’s corporate sponsor- the CPI Corporation. Piecing together a conspiracy of corruption and cover-ups, narcotics trafficking, murder and domestic terrorism, they are tirelessly seeking proof that the mythos of the Triumvirate and Operation Scimitar is built on a decaying foundation… and now they just might have it.

Gwendolyn Beckett, a college student whose meta-human ability just recently manifested itself, was merely doing her patriotic duty, volunteering to join Operation Scimitar. How she went from a Scimitar recruit to being slated to die in a gladiatorial arena against a fellow meta-human is one of the many memories she has since lost. Little does she know that Operation Checkpoint and its cryptic leader, a meta-human named Seether, is coming to her rescue because they are desperate to know a secret that is buried deep within her mind.
